Upcycling Workshops for Youth Organizations

Thread by Thread workshops are hands-on, empowering, and unforgettable. We bring upcycling education directly to your school, Girl Scout troop, Boys & Girls Club, community center, or youth organization, teaching girls to transform donated clothing into new designs while learning valuable life skills.

What Happens in a Workshop

Participants don't just learn to sew—they discover their creative power. Under Alessandra's guidance, girls (ages 12-18) learn basic sewing techniques, sustainability principles, and design thinking. Each student works on transforming a donated garment: turning jeans into tote bags, cropping oversized jackets, adding embellishments to plain pieces, or deconstructing and rebuilding items entirely.

The workshop environment is collaborative, supportive, and fun. Girls work at their own pace, help each other problem-solve, and leave with a finished piece they're proud of. But the best part? They know their creation will go to someone who truly needs it—locally in Miami or internationally in underserved communities.
